On Pentecost 2014, Nahant Village Church became “Open & Affirming” ~ the 140th church in our Conference, and the 1200th in our denomination. Hurrah!

 

Our ONA Covenant reads: 

“The Nahant Village Church, by extension of our longtime principle that “all are welcome,” affirms that we are an Open and Affirming Congregation. 

 

Our faith, in follow-ing the teachings of Jesus, leads us to welcome all persons, including those of all races, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions, family structures, faith backgrounds, abilities and economic circumstances, into the full life and ministry of this church. 

 

All are invited to participate in the full life of the church, including but not limited to: the sacraments of baptism and communion, rites of confirmation, ceremonies of marriage or covenant, and end-of-life services.

 

We recognize, celebrate, and give thanks for the diversity in which God created us, each in God's image and loved by God.”
